President Bush appointed the following 14 members to the National Advisory Council on Indian Education: Robin Butterfield (Oregon) Carol Gho (Alaska Native) Lori Quigley (Seneca - New York) Linda Warner (Oklahoma) Kathy Hopinkah Hannan (Chicago, Illinois) Virginia Thomas (Oklahoma) Cynthia A. Lindquist (North Dakota) Michael C. Parish (Michigan) Michelle D. Henderson (Montana) Robert Chiago (Arizona) Donna L. Brown (North Dakota) Gregory Anderson (Oklahoma) Lennie L. Pickard (Georgia) Ronald G. Toya (New Mexico) Ms. Agnes H. Chavis (Lumbee) was the most recent appointee to the Council and her term expires with these new appointments. This is the first time in the past 20 years that there has not been a Lumbee appointed to this prestigious Council. Past Lumbee appointees have included Karma Hunt Torklep, Earl Hughes Oxendine, Noah Woods, and Robert Brewington.
