From someone who know that facts, I hope you are not living in a dream world. I find it appalling to know that some of our tribal council members and tribal staff are making concessions with convicted felons. We are renting from felons, purchasing mobile homes through and from felons, paying a storage fee to a convicted felon, and contracting construction jobs to convicted felons. Yet, we can not service convicted felons. That is a slap in the face. It is time for individuals to stand up and tell it like it should be. We had convicted felons paying candidate fees and paying site workers to transport members to the polls. We even had convicted felons throwing a mid-day election luncheon at his home on the day of the election for all the candidates that they have financed. We had convicted felons making the statements that they control the tribal council. We have convicted felons walking in on meetings with a represenatative from our U.S. Congressman discussing tribal business, as he tries to inform the individual of what the plans for the tribe will be. We have convicted felons who can walk into the tribal office and not sign-in, just walk to the back and speak to whomever they choose, while those in need should sit out front for hours. This my friend in not right and Recognition or No-Recognition, it is time to do things right. If you can't tell the truth, don't say anything at all. Also, if you read the constitution, it grants the people the right to come together and watch the dealings of our tribal council, and it things are not right, we have the right to voice our concerns. If reputations are being hurt, then clean house.
