Thank you, Dr. Dial-Woods for clarifying for us that you, "take full responsibility for assisting the Tribal Council in planning for housing communities, procurement of three sites (including 3 phases of procurement at Arrowpoint over a 3 year period for 100 acres more or less)." I do understand that you were no longer employed by the tribe by mid-December when the other properties were purchased. My issue here, then lies that decisions were made prior to the hiring of Darlene Jacobs in March 2003. Her responsibility does lie with her action as a tribal council member in purchasing the land. However, that was a decision made by the full council of 21 people, not just Ms. Jacobs. Accountability therein lies among the council. I see this as a mechanism to have a scapegoat. Unfortunately, Ms. Jacobs has borne that responsibility on herself. Talk about leadership of the tribe and accountability!!!
