This is an on-line discussion board called Discussion Among The Lumbee's. The Lumbee Tribal Elections are over, but the vote was not overwhelming. While the currently elected Lumbee Tribal Chairperson won with 42% of the votes, 58% were opposed! As a community activist, a people's advocate, and an experienced voice for the Lumbee, I plan to keep the website and this forum alive and well. I will represent the majority of voters. We will continue to monitor the workings of the Lumbee Tribal Government and to speak out for the people and what the people need.
Lumbee Tribal Concerns and Issues will be our main discussion board. The discussion board will promote open communications between and among individuals and organizations to work together for social, political and economic justice of the Lumbee people.
All Lumbee Tribal members and those of Lumbee Indian descendancy will be encouraged to become more active participants through discussion, action and guiding and developing a true democratic government based on the Lumbee Tribal constitution.
The discussion board will provide information and guidance to the public that will be needed to ensure open communications and effective working relationships on behalf of all Lumbee people.
Finally, the discussion board will promote the sharing of timely information and leading ideas for sound public and tribal policy that will ensure fairness, honesty and accountability in tribal government policies and practice.
While this website is not run by rules, per se, forums are monitored . Compulsory rules are non-negotiable and will be administered firmly and fairly. Guidelines are geared towards just improving the state of the forums. While some of the guidelines are more prohibitive, they function as rules.

Guidelines and Helpful Hings
| Do not use topic threads to chat or carry on conversations. Doing this dilutes the substance of the thread and basically excludes others from the thread. Private messaging and e-mail should be used to communicate with other individuals. | |
| Do not dig up old threads for chit chat. If you want to continue a discussion from an old thread, create anew thread and reference the old one in your opening post. | |
| No blatantly juvenile toilet humor. Not making any hard and fast rules means that the website monitor can use good judgment to moderation. Bottom line: while warnings will be given, it does not necessarily mean more than twice ot one person. Disrupting the community will result in deletion of posts and banning of further use. | |
| Signatures are expected to follow the same guidelines - signs, images, links to personal or business sites, but no flaming, no swearing, no personal attacks, and no adult material. |
